Georgina Sparks' (Michelle Tachtenberg) rather startling arrival into the show promises a lot of trouble and conflict, at least for Serena. And just as well. The Serena-Dan lovey-dovey scenes are fast becoming predictable and boring. Georgina's arrival definitely put some spice into the show--I can't wait to find out what Georgina's blackmailing Serena with. I would have to commend Blake Lively's versatility--she could switch from good girl to bad and back again like that.
And.. and it's really, really such a relief to see that Blair's back to her old, scheming, bitchy self. I really would have been rather disheartened if they kept writing Blair as this helpless little weasel. The damsel-in-distress act really doesn't suit her. In this episode, she hatches a plan to sabotage her toughest competitor for the coveted Yale spot--Nelly Yuki--and trampling Little J in the process. And I loved that because I really hate Jenny right now. Trying too hard to fit in and stealing Blair's fashion sense. Pfft. The thing about Blair is that you never can put all the blame on her, except perhaps in the part where she took out the batteries of Nelly Yuki's calculator. And Leighton really plays the part so very well.
[SPOILER ALERT] Next week--Erik is outed, and in a big way. From what I've seen in the trailers, seems like Blair would be the one to out him and Jenny's Unity guy boyfriend. Also, Serena will confess what Georgina's got on her. It seems like she has a sex tape from the past. But there were also some rumors that there would be some girl-on-girl action. I sincerely hope not. That would be a little anti-climactic, IMO. Can't wait!
